We are opening up 10 more lottery spots for student parking for juniors and seniors. Your behavior record and SAT scores will determine whether you will be part of the lottery or not. If you are interested, please come to the office and fill out an index card.
Don’t forget to purchase Halloween grams for your friends, secret admirers, or even your teachers, to make their Halloween extra sweet! They will be sold during all three lunches or in room A129 for $2 only!
Today Key Club will host a fundraiser at Leo’s Coney Island on Greenfield from 2:30 until close. Please mention Key Club, your support is appreciated!
Ever wanted to be a part of the school play? Now is your chance! Auditions for the spring play are today and tomorrow in A100
Attention attention… tomorrow is the day! The day we have all been waiting for. It’s Pink Out day! Please come decked out in Pink and breast cancer awareness gear. Tomorrow is also the last day to donate to the William Ford student fighting an aggressive form of cancer. There will be Interact students in the cafeteria during all 3 lunches collecting donations. Do you need pink out gear? Stop by the tractor before or after school or see Ms. Naura or Mrs. Ayoub to purchase items. Let’s beat Crestwood and Dearborn and help ease the pain of a family in need.
What is that? Want to challenge yourself. Come join Challenge/Quiz bowl tomorrow morning at 6:30 am in room A 106 to talk about competing this year!
You think you can bowl? Stop by a room A209 after school tomorrow for an informational meeting about trying out for a boys and girls bowling team at Fordson!!
The wELLcome club will have its Halloween party tomorrow after school in the cafeteria. Pumpkin painting, Halloween music, and pizza will be there!
Key Club is supporting the local Salvation Army food bank sponsored by the Dearborn Outer Drive Kiwanis. Bring canned food, dry items, household products and personal hygiene items to Ms. Zriek’s class, room A200, by tomorrow for community service hours. Dearborn High will also take part in this effort. If you have questions, see the Key Club board or Ms. Zriek.
A 2nd bus for Cedar Point has opened up for Saturday October 28th! See Ms. Zriek in room A200.
Fordson High School’s Pay it Forward club is bringing Halloween costumes to Fordson. On Tuesday October 31st we are hosting the Haunted Halls fundraiser where staff and students who wish to wear a costume to school on Halloween must purchase a $2 wristband they have to wear with their costume that identifies they can wear it. Each student must also sign a contract promising to abide by the costume restrictions that are very detailed on what is and isn’t allowed. All the proceeds will be donated to the Amity Foundation Thanksgiving Drive. If you wish to buy a ticket, please see Ms. Reda in A128 before or after school.
Let’s be really creative with our costumes, respectful, but also have a lot of fun that day!
Yearbooks are still on sale for $70; however the icons are now $3 each. See Mrs. Kubitz in C203 before school or during all three lunches.
Girls basketball will begin Monday, 11/6. You must have a completed physical to try out.
Boys basketball and wrestling will begin Monday, 11/13. You must have a completed physical to try out.
Boys swimming will begin Monday, 11/20. You must have a physical.
Please join us for the Second Annual Mother/Daughter Tea which will be held on Wednesday, November 8th from 6:30- 8:30pm at The Dearborn Center for Performing Arts. Money raised will go to support scholarships for seniors who are actively involved in their community. See Mrs. Harb or Mrs. Herrick for tickets.
Seniors: Head shots are due November 17th-NO EXCEPTIONS- You must turn in a CD to Mrs. Kubitz in C203 and sign off that she received it. Electronic copies must be submitted via a drop box through your photographer. Either way you must sign off to ensure that Mrs. Kubitz received it. If you have any further questions, see Mrs. Kubitz in C203.
Michigan State will be on site November 10th 2017 starting 9AM. Students must submit an application online prior to Nov. 10th. The application online requires ACT/SAT scores. After registering online, be sure to sign in for the event in the counseling office.
The Arab American Scholarship deadline is November 1st, 2017.
The 2018 Prudential Spirit of Community Award is an award that recognizes youth based solely on volunteer service. All entries are due November, 7th. Click below: https://spirit.prudential.com/
The American Legion, Dept of MI Wilson Scholarship & Dept of MI Brewer Scholarship available to residents attending high school and are a son, daughter, grandchild or great-grandchild of a war-time veteran planning to attend any Michigan accredited college or university. Based on student’s GPA of 2.5 or higher, financial need, parent’s or grandparent’s honorable active war-time military service, goals and intentions. Forms available in counselors office. Deadline is January 8,2018. Award is $500.
U of M Club of Greater Detroit Scholarship has 12 unique scholarship opportunities worth $3,500 each for incoming Freshman Fall 2018. Applications are accepted online. Visit www.umclubgreaterdetroit.org for online application and scholarship info. Deadline is Friday, January 19, 2018 @ 5:00 pm.
