Greetings Fordson Community,
As part of our continuing efforts to keep an open line of communication I would like to provide you with the following information.
This morning at 7:43 a.m. the emergency notification system sent a lockdown announcement through the school. This occurred at a time when staff was in the building and students were arriving. Within 20 seconds the notification was turned off and an announcement was made over the public address system that the announcement was an error and there was no lockdown. Within a few minutes an email was sent to all staff with the same message.
At no time was there any danger or threat to our school or those in the building.
Immediately we investigated why this notification was sent. We quickly were able to determine that one of the emergency lockdown buttons located in the school was activated. These buttons can only be activated when a person pushes the button. We are in the process of determining if this was done by accident or intentionally.
