University of Michigan Adventure Leadership Retreat permission slip is due today. Please drop off to Mrs. Harb or the main office.

If you want to help the environment, or just participate in some neat citizen science, please join the Environmental Club! They meet on Wednesdays after school in room A118.

NMA Speech contest for all high school students. Students present an original 4 to 6 minute speech on the topic of Leadership.  Top three local competitors receive awards of $500, $250 and $100.  Local winner goes on to a Regional contest with prizes of $1000 and $500.  National winner receives $4,000.  The application deadline is 12/15/17.  All information and forms on: www.NMAChapter141SpeechContest.com

The Lead Roster Marketing Scholarship: award value $1,000. Deadline: Dec 15, 2017 https://www.leadroster.com/?scholarship Students applying must submit the URL of a video they’ve uploaded to YouTube where you explain, present, convince, inspire, entertain, market and/or sell us your reason why you deserve to win this scholarship. The video can be anything that you feel will compel us to choose your entry as long as it has “Lead Roster Scholarship” in the title and is publicly viewable.

The Publicity.ai SEO & Content Marketing Scholarship: Award Value $1,000 Deadline: Dec 15, 2017Application Link- https://publicity.ai/?scholarship Students applying must submit a brief essay explaining the best use of content marketing –the act of producing content to compel your audience to appreciate and share it– that they have seen. The American Legion, Dept of MI Wilson Scholarship & Dept of MI Brewer Scholarship available to residents attending high school and are a son, daughter, grandchild or great-grandchild of a war-time veteran planning to attend any Michigan accredited college or university. Based on student’s GPA of 2.5 or higher, financial need, parent’s or grandparent’s honorable active war-time military service, goals and intentions.  Forms available in counselors office. Deadline is January 8, 2018. Award is $500.

NALS of Michigan Scholarship is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a qualified applicant. Deadline is January 15, 2018. Application, rules and regulations available in the counseling office.

U of M Club of Greater Detroit Scholarship has 12 unique scholarship opportunities worth $3,500 each for incoming Freshman Fall 2018. Applications are accepted online.  Visit www.umclubgreaterdetroit.org for online application and scholarship info. Deadline is Friday, January 19, 2018 @ 5:00 pm.

Michigan Rural Water Association is sponsoring a video contest. The contest is open to grades 9-12, individually or as a group of no more than 4, and a teacher representing a specific department must sponsor entries.  Limit is 10 videos per school.  Application/info available is counseling office.  Video submission deadline is January 24, 2018.

The Princeton Prize in Race Relations recognizes high school age students who are helping improve race relations in their schools or communities. Award is $1,000 and an all-expense-paid trip to Princeton University to attend the Princeton Prize Symposium on Race. Visit pprize.princeton.edu for info/application.  Deadline is January 31st.
